How can you help a child in need? Volunteer to become a Guardian ad Litem advocating for a juvenile petitioned into the court system by the Department of Social Services due to allegations of abuse and/or neglect. A GAL is a trained community member that will speak to the juvenile's best interest and promote permanency. GAL's are paired with an Attorney Advocate to represent the child-client during the juvenile proceedings. Application, interview, pre-screening required before admittance into pre-service training.
