HandsOn NWNC mobilizes the people and organizations that inspire community change in Forsyth, Davidson, Davie, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin counties. We envision a Northwest North Carolina where citizens and nonprofits are equipped and engaged in creating thriving, healthy communities.
Our GetConnected portal is one of the main ways that we connect those people wanting to make change-of whatever kind-to organizations working to help make that change happen. Hundreds of volunteer and nonprofit connections happen each year on this site, whether it's through a volunteer match, facilitating a donation, or sharing community events. This GetConnected platform has clearly become a way for us to come together as a community of informed and impactful volunteers, board members, and nonprofit professionals.
We're excited to share these current maps of all of our nonprofit partners that are actively engaged on GetConnected. While still just a subset of HandsOn NWNC's overall network of volunteers and organizations, we believe this is still an impressive visual representation of our collaboration with the approximately 1,000 active volunteers and 400 nonprofits that used the portal in 2021! Though it's clear that the base of our network remains in Forsyth County, we're adding new organizations every day, and are eager to grow our network in Surry, Stokes, Davie, Davidson, and Yadkin counties.
