Who We Are

City with Dwellings cultivates a community of care so people can move with dignity from trauma and homelessness to healing and housing stability. We share in our community’s collective responsibility to create safe, stable dwellings for all by disrupting unhealthy systems and providing street outreach, resource navigation, and supportive housing solutions. Working together, we can come closer to a world that honors and fosters resilience and housing stability as fundamental to everyone’s health and well-being.

What We Do

We accomplish our mission through:

  1. person-centered street outreach;
  2. day services featuring next-step resource navigation and restorative practices; and
  3. peer-based supportive housing services.

We serve people in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, with an intentional focus on those who are literally homeless with underlying vulnerabilities such as limited financial resources, mental illness, addiction, and weak social connections (relational poverty). Our neighbors also face systemic barriers which results in a fundamental lack of safety, belonging, and dignity.  Individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in our community need and deserve:

  •  coordinated, user-friendly system services;
  • safe, affordable housing;
  • services to enable them to stay in housing; and
  • effective mental health and addiction recovery options.
