Who We Are

MISSION STATEMENT

We are a Christian ministry of charity, service and justice dedicated to providing help
to those in need, hope to those in despair, and inspiration for others to follow.

Our history began over 75 years ago when the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh (which then covered the entire state) created a Charlotte-based branch of The Bureau of Catholic Charities.  Our vast service area now extends through 46 counties, from Rockingham county in the north to Richmond county in the south and Cherokee county in the west.  We seek opportunities to expand outreach to our neighbors in need through our physical locations in Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Murphy, and Winston-Salem and through parish-based program offerings across the Diocese of Charlotte.

What We Do

Currently we offer individual, marriage, and family counseling; distribution of donated services to the needy (Food Pantry and Wee Care Shoppe);  disaster relief; economic opportunity development; support for pregnant teens and teens in crisis; college support; support for Runaway and Homeless Youth and provide translation and interpretation services.

Through the generosity of our donors and partnerships with funders, we are able to offer services either free of charge or on a sliding fee scale to all whose needs fall within our range of expertise and ability to serve. All of our services are available to clients regardless of their race, ethnicity, or religion.
