Who We Are
Authoring Action is an arts and education organization that provides tools to youth and adults for their personal success in any career, calling and life path. Authoring Action is led by Executive Director and Co-founder Reverend Lynn Rhoades, M. Div, and Nathan Ross Freeman, Artistic Director. Together with local professional artists who teach their craft, teens and adults develop artistic skills through collaboration. Authoring Action provides the "Just Us" creative writing & filmmaking program 3 times per year. This program serves teens at-risk of juvenile court involvement, living in at-risk situations or who may be referred from juvenile court.
Authoring Action partners with The Dwelling Congregation to develop authors through "Voices from the Dwelling. In this 7 week session, participants learn the Authoring Action Creative Writing Process to tell their about their experiences with homelessness. These writings are delivered on stage for the community.
What We Do
Authoring Action develops authors who create original written works from life stories and societal issues. Our students are authors of their own lives once they have learned to think analytically, present confidently and express themselves dynamically through creative writing, speech, film and design.
