Who We Are

We work every day to eliminate racism and empower women with unique programs and services designed to breakdown and eliminate systemic racism focusing on:

• Minority Health Disparities
• Education and Income Equality
• Substance Use Recovery for Women
• Juvenile Crime Prevention

What We Do

Every day we turn on the lights and open the doors to answer the cry for justice. We will get up and do the work until injustice is rooted out, institutions are transformed, and until the world sees women, girls, and people of color the way we do:

EQUAL. POWERFUL. UNSTOPPABLE.

Helping fund our work is the HanesBrands Community Product Sale with all proceeds directly benefiting the Winston-Salem YWCA and the United Way of Forsyth County.  This year’s sale will be held Dec 1-3 at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Education Building, and we need volunteers to help us before, during and after the sale. All volunteers get access to a volunteer-only early shopping event as well a 10-day membership pass to the YWCA. Volunteers who work at least two 2-hour shifts will also receive an $80 shopping voucher to use at the sale. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

**Currently all volunteer slots are filled **

**Volunteer shifts are subject to change at any time based on organizational needs**
